SALT LAKE CITY — June means it's the start of the summer events season and whether you want to see the excitement at a rodeo, appreciate the arts or dance to live music, there's something for everyone happening throughout Utah.

Here's a list of events to check out in June:

Now-June 2:Canyonlands PRCA Rodeo

Moab will host the Canyonlands PRCA Rodeo at the Old Spanish Trails Arena at 3641 U.S. 191. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a 6:30 p.m. pre-show and 7 p.m. main event. After the Saturday rodeo, Bubba and the RedRock Outlaws will perform a country music show. Tickets are $16 for adults for the door, with varying prices for children, family and seniors.

Now-June 2:South Jordan SummerFest

Tons of family-friendly activities will be included at this event, held at the South Jordan City Park at 11010 S. Redwood Road with some activities held elsewhere in the city. Some of the activities include a carnival, battle of the bands, car show, petting zoo, parade and fireworks. Many of the activities are free. Now-June 2:Pony Express Days

Eagle Mountain's annual festival runs through June 2 this year, and this weekend's events include a 5K, live entertainment, a demolition derby, parade, carnival and fireworks. Events are held throughout the city. Locations and ticket information can be found on the Pony Express Days website.

Now-June 3:Ogden Music Festival

More than a dozen artists of varying genres will perform at the Ogden Music Festival, running until Sunday held at Fort Buenaventura Park at 2450 A Ave. Tickets range from $40 for a one-day pass with no camping to $105 for a three-day pass with camping. This year's performers include Lake Street Dive, Michelle Moonshine, Molly Tuttle, Balsam Range and more.

June 2:Utah Lake Festival

The festival will be held at the Utah Lake State Park, 4400 W. Center St. in Provo, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Events include sandcastle building, a boat show and sailboat regatta, hay rides, free fishing for kids 11 and under, educational booths, free paddle board rentals and lessons, kayak, canoe, paddleboats and motorboat rentals and a food truck roundup. Admission is free.

Now- June 3:Utah Pride Week

This year's Pride Week will have events around Salt Lake City, including a 5K, march and rally, interfaith services, live entertainment, speakers, films and, of course, Sunday's parade. Some events are free and some require tickets; find the full list of events on Facebook. Certain events require age verification.

June 2-9:Springville Art City Days

Events at this annual festival are held throughout Springville and are mostly free to the public, with some exceptions. Events include a carnival, parade, concerts, rodeo, 5K, car show, battle of the bands and more. A full event schedule can be found at the website.

June 4:Summer Concerts in the Park

Draper City will hold free concerts at the Draper City Historic Park, 900 E. 12625 South, every Monday in June from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. This month's performers are The Time Cruisers, Cold Creek, Joshua Creek and Dueling Pianos: Killer Keyz.

June 4-9:Cedar Hills Family Festival

Most festival events will be held at Heritage Park, 4425 W. Cedar Hills Drive. Events and activities include a parade, adventure zone, pickleball, children's games, food trucks, fireworks and more. Ticket prices vary by event.

June 4-9:Orem Summerfest

Summerfest events will be held around the city, with most of them taking place at City Center Park (300 E. Center St.) and Scera Park (699 State St.) Hit the carnival, visit the car show, watch the parade, take in fireworks and more over the course of the week. Ticket prices vary by event.

June 4-9:Saratoga Splash Days

The city's annual celebration includes everything from a magic show to a carnival. Events will mostly be held at Neptune Park, 452 W. 400 North. You can buy pre-sale carnival tickets at the library for $20 or $30 for walk-up. Find a full event schedule on the Saratoga Springs website.

June 6-9:Panguitch QuiltWalk Festival

The annual festival will be held at several locations around town. Get three tickets to the Chocolate Fest for $5, watch the tractor parade or take part in the quilt walk race or tractor pull. Take your kids to the free Heritage Fair at 90 E. Center St. for pioneer-oriented activities like tin-punch art and candle making.

June 8-9:Top of Zion Relay

Take in gorgeous views as you race from Capitol Reef to Zion National Park. Teams are made up of three, six or 12 runners who take turns running a 24- to 36-hour course. Registration costs range from $120 to $1,440; registration must be completed in advance.

June 8-10:Utah Scottish Festival and Highland Games

Attendees can celebrate Scottish heritage with Highland dancing, piping, drumming, entertainment, vendors and more at the Utah Scottish Festival. The event is located at the Utah State Fair Park, 155 N. 1000 West in Salt Lake City. Tickets are $15. Active military with a current Geneva Conventions ID and children 11 and under can attend for free.

June 9:Brigham City Arts Festival

Visit the Brigham City Arts Festival for free at the Bill of Rights Plaza, 20 N. Main St. Some of the activities include live performances by heritage and contemporary artists, a quilt and trunk show and children's games. Activities will be held from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m.

June 9-10:10th-Annual Snowbird Brewfest

Admission is free for Snowbird's 10th annual festival, but tokens have to be purchased for beer samples from more than 25 local and national breweries. Live music, food stations and crafters/vendors will also be part of the festival. Fifteen dollars gets you a Brewfest mug and $3 tokens. Additional tokens are $2 a piece.

June 13-16:Bryce Canyon Annual Astronomy Festival

This annual festival will have telescopes available and includes events and opportunities to learn about space, stars and the sky. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Michelle Thaller, an astronomer at NASA headquarters. Keep an eye on the website for a list of scheduled events.

June 14-16:Logan Summerfest

Logan's free Summerfest will feature visual and performing artists and will have plenty of food, as well. This year’s featured artist is Julie Crabtree, who works in embroidery/mixed media, creating fiber pieces for the wall, smaller fashion items and experimental pieces. The event will be held at the Logan LDS Tabernacle grounds at 50 N. Main St. and starts at 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.

June 15-16:Jacob Hamblin Days

This event celebrates “the pioneer and Western heritage of Kanab and Kane County” and includes rodeos, heritage activities at various Kanab historical sites and more. Starting times vary by activity.

June 14-16:Tooele Arts Festival

This festival will have live entertainment, children’s activities, vendors, performing and visual artists, food vendors and more at the Tooele City Park at West Vine Street. The annual event is free. The full schedule has not yet been released.

June 14-16:WestFest

West Valley City's annual celebration includes fireworks, carnival rides, food, vendors, 5K/10K fun runs, a skating competition and live entertainment. The festival will be held at Centennial Park, 5405 W. 3100 South, and admission is free.

June 14-16/19-23:Mormon Miracle Pageant

The annual theatric performances of scenes from the Book of Mormon will take place on the LDS Manti Temple grounds. Gates open at 6 p.m. and performances begin at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free and food is allowed on temple grounds.

June 15-16:Wasatch Mountain Music Festival

The festival will be held at the Zermatt Resort in Midway and will feature a lineup of national and regional bands playing bluegrass, traditional and Americana music. Doors open at 10 a.m. each day. Ticket prices vary and can be found here.

June 15-17:Utah Foster Care Chalk Art Festival

This is a free community art event on Rio Grande Street at the Gateway featuring large chalk art murals. This year, the festival is offering a "Kids Korner" with kid's activities, a DJ and an interactive art project with 801 Rocks.

June 15-16:Helper Outlaw Car Show

The 32nd Annual Helper Outlaw Car Show will be held at 225 N. Main St. and starts at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and includes a pinup contest, night cruise and car show.

June 16:Utah Asian Festival

The festival is free to the public and will be held 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mountain America Expo Center, 9575 S. State St. in Sandy. Food, cultural booths, performances, martial arts, cosplay, children's activities and more will be present.

June 16:Cool Air Concert Series

Snowbird will hold free outdoor concerts on the Plaza Deck every Saturday throughout the summer, starting on June 16. The restaurant will be open and lawn chairs and coolers are welcome. The June 16 headliner is Too Slim and the Taildraggers.

June 16:Family History Library Block Party

West Temple Street between North and South Temple will be blocked off for live entertainment and outdoor and indoor activities at the block party. Live entertainment will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes the Scottish Pipe Band, Malibu Revue, a Tabernacle organ recital, Kenshin Taiko and the BYU Mariachi Band. Food trucks will be present.

June 16:Utah Blues Festival

The festival starts at 12 p.m. at the Gallivan Center, 239 Main St., Salt Lake City. General admission is $42 and kids 12 and under enter free. This year's performers include Shemekia Copeland, Ana Popović, Rick Estrin & the Nightcats, Ft. Kid Andersen, Danielle Nicole Band, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Sarah DeGraw & Tony Holiday and the Utah Blues Society Youth Blues Showcase.

June 16:Coalville Summer Celebration

The celebration runs from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will have a 5K run, kids area, quilt display, car show, craft and food vendors, live entertainment, concert and a live DJ with street dancing.

June 16:Wee Beer Festival

The fourth-annual Wee Beer Festival includes beer, entertainment, vendors, food and more. Admission includes a 6-ounce Pilsner glass and three beer tickets for $6. Additional beer tickets are available for purchase. Sample 25 plus different local artisan brews at the outdoor event and feel free to bring shade structures and lawn chairs. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

June 16-23:Nibley City Heritage Days

Activities will include fireworks and a parade, among other events, and will be held at various locations around town. Locations vary and admission is free. Watch the website for more information.

June 16-24:Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days

Pleasant Grove bills Strawberry Days as the longest-running celebration in the state. Events include a carnival, live entertainment, car show, pet show, rodeo, pie-eating contest and all the strawberries you can handle. Ticket and location information varies and can be found at the website.

June 17:Father's Day BBQ and Music at Snowbird

Snowbird will hold a barbecue with live music on the Plaza Deck from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Live music will be provided by Judd Warrick, Dan Weldon and Nate Robinson. Creamy potato salad, hamburgers, BBQ-braised St. Louis ribs, jerked chicken, shaved ice and more will be served.

June 18-23:Fort Herriman Towne Days

This free event will be held at W&M Butterfield Park, 6212 W. 14200 South, and includes a carnival, food, vendors, games, live entertainment, a car show and more. Event times vary and can be found here.

June 21-23:West Haven Days

The annual event will include a picnic in the park, fireworks, live entertainment, a rodeo, car show, Dutch-oven cook-off, baby contest and more. Events are free to the public, but you have to register in advance if you want to compete.

June 21-24:Panguitch Valley Balloon Rally

Watch 30 plus balloons launch at 6:30 a.m. each day, then come back later that day for inflatable rides, food, vendors, live entertainment and more. Closeout Saturday night with the Dusk Balloon Glow, starting at 7 p.m. at Center and Main Streets. Event locations vary and can be found here.

June 21-24:Utah Arts Festival

Celebrate art of every type at Utah’s outdoor annual arts festival. The festival will be held at Liberty Square, 210 E. 400 South in Salt Lake City. Featured artists work in 2-D and 3-D mixed media, ceramics, digital art, drawing and pastel, fiber, glass, graphics and printmaking, jewelry, metalwork, painting, photography, sculpture, wearable art and wood. Children 12 and under get in for free, and tickets range in price from $8-$50.

June 22:Family Flicks

Snowbird will show free family-friendly movies every Friday night at dusk starting June 22 with "Teen Wolf." Movies will continue through Aug. 10.

June 22-23:Cedar City Frontier Folk Festival

Frontier Homestead State Park Museum, 635 N. Main St. in Cedar City, will feature more than 30 artists from Utah, Nevada and Arizona at this year’s Frontier Folk Festival. Food vendors and live music will join the artist shops. Admission is free.

June 28:Utah Shakespeare Festival opens

This year's Utah Shakespeare Festival kicks off on June 28 with a matinee showing of Othello at 2 p.m. The official opening is June 29 with an 8 p.m. showing of Henry VI Part I. Ticket prices vary by theater and seat location can be found here.

June 28-30:Lehi Round-Up Rodeo

This annual event at 105 N. 500 West, Lehi, features top cowboys and cowgirls competing in the rodeo, along with specialty acts. Tickets cost between $5 and $12 and can be purchased online. Performances start at 8 p.m.

June 28-30:Taylorsville Dayzz

Taylorsville Dayzz kicks off at 4 p.m. Thursday with a family carnival night that includes 10 rides for $10. Other events include live music, outdoor movies, a 5K, parade, car show and fireworks. Most events are free. Taylorsville Dayzz will be held at Valley Regional Park, 5100 S. 2700 West.
