PARK CITY — One person is in critical condition after a rollover crash north of Park City, authorities said.

The crash took place about 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of state Route 224 and Old Ranch Road, about 4 miles north of Park City, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said.

A car that was traveling between 90 and 100 miles per hour hit another car and rolled several times, Royce said. The male driver of the car that rolled was flown in a medical helicopter in critical condition to Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Royce said.

The man had been driving north on Route 224, Royce said.

The driver and passenger in the other car had no injuries, Royce said. He did not release the names or ages of anyone involved in the crash.

Northbound lanes of Route 224 were closed, Utah Department of Transportation officials said on Twitter. Traffic heading west on Old Ranch Road was being asked to turn around or reroute down the road, Park City officials said on Twitter.

Royce said officials were finishing up at the scene as of 9 p.m. The road was later reopened.
