TAYLORSVILLE — Police are asking for the public’s help in locating two men who they say forced people inside a convenience store onto the ground at gunpoint before they took money and other items from the store early Saturday morning.
Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven located at 3180 W. 5400 South at approximately 1:15 a.m., according to Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke.
One man entered the store and brandished a handgun, while another demanded money, cigarettes and a case of beer that he then placed inside a backpack. The men then made the employees and a customer in the store lay on the ground before they fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and other items, Lohrke said.
Both men are approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, Lohrke said. Surveillance video released by police shows one man wearing a blue bandana and a dark hooded sweatshirt with an SUU logo on it. The other man had a dark hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses on at the time of the robbery.
Anyone with information about the men is encouraged to call Unified police at 801-743-7000. Tips can be made anonymously.
