Campbell controls Presbyterian for 72-56 win behind Clemons

BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) — Chris Clemons scored 23 points and distributed nine assists and Damontez Oliver scored 13 and Campbell defeated Presbyterian 72-56 on Saturday to finish in fourth place in the Big South standings.

Campbell (16-14, 10-8) never trailed. The Camels got 3-pointers from Nick Parker, Marcus Burk, Clemons and a pair from Oliver as part of an early 17-3 run and weren't threatened the rest of the way. Campbell led 35-25 at halftime and maintained a double-digit lead for most of the second half.

The Camels shot 12 of 28 (43 percent) from behind the 3-point arc, and passed 19 assists on 28 field goals.

JC Younger led Presbyterian (11-20, 4-14) with 16 points and nine rebounds. Reggie Dillard had 11 points and Davon Bell added 10 with eight assists. The Blue Hose shot 19 of 53 from the field (36 percent).

Both teams committed just six turnovers apiece.
