LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Jahad Thomas and Ryan Jones combined to score 50 points and UMass Lowell beat Maine, 88-76 in the River Hawks final home game of the season Wednesday night.
UMass Lowell is in seventh place in the America East Conference with two games remaining, including a game at UMBC on Saturday.
The River Hawks (11-16, 5-9) got 68 of their 88 total points from three scorers. Thomas scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Jones had 24 points, five rebounds and six assists, and Matt Harris added 18 points, six boards and three steals. UMass Lowell shot 52.5 percent from the field, knocking down 31 of 59 shots, including 9 of 15 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Aaron Calixte scored 18 points to lead Maine (6-23, 3-11), with Vernon Lowndes Jr. adding 16 points. Isaiah White and Andrew Fleming had 11 and 10 points, respectively.
