ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Second-half headers by Dimitris Pelkas and Mauricio led Greek league leader PAOK over newcomer Lamia 2-0 on Saturday.
PAOK is five points ahead of AEK, which hosts Xanthi on Sunday, and nine ahead of defending champion Olympiakos, which plays Panionios at home, also on Sunday.
Lamia is in 13th place.
Olympiakos is appealing sanctions for fan behavior that will cost it, if upheld, a three-point deduction and two home games in front of empty stands.
Pelkas scored in the 56th minute, assisted by Diego Biseswar, and Mauricio added his six minutes later from point-blank range following a defensive mistake.
Also, Kerkyra beat Apollon 2-0, and Atromitos won at Asteras 1-0 with a second-half injury-time goal.
