SALT LAKE CITY — Investigators are looking for clues to what started a fire at a reception center in Salt Lake City Thursday morning.
Firefighters received a call of dense smoke coming from a building at 309 W. 1500 South around 1:40 a.m., according to a press release from the Salt Lake Fire Department.
About 40 firefighters responded and found the M&M Reception Center and adjoining warehouse on fire. It took them about 45 minutes to extinguish the flames, the release said.
The buildings were not occupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the dollar amount of damage was not immediately known, the release said. Firefighters on the scene told KSL it looked like about $100,000 worth of damage.
Traffic in the area was rerouted but has since returned to normal.
