WEST VALLEY CITY — WEST VALLEY CITY — Police continued Monday to investigate the fatal crash involving a Toyota Tundra truck flying off an I-215 overpass and landing on a vehicle below.

Jared P. Lund, 44, of New Harmony, Washington County, was killed when his truck "went off of I-215 … at the 3500 South off-ramp and jumped the ramp to I-215," according to a statement from the Utah Highway Patrol. UHP Lt. Todd Royce said the truck dropped about 20 feet, broadsiding a GMC Envoy below with a man and woman inside.

The couple in the SUV suffered serious injuries but were expected to survive, according to the UHP.

What caused the Toyota to go off the overpass was still being investigated Monday.
