Varnado leads Troy with double-double in 82-64 win

TROY, Ala. (AP) — Jordon Varnado scored 23 points with 13 rebounds and Troy defeated Little Rock 82-64 on Saturday.

Varnado has scored in double figures in all 18 games he has played this season, having missed seven with a foot injury. His double-double was his fifth this season and 16th of the junior's career.

Javan Johnson scored 13 points and Wesley Person and Juan Davis Jr. added 11 each for Troy (12-13, 6-6 Sun Belt), which shot 52 percent on its way to a third straight victory.

Jaizec Lottie, though only 3 of 12 from the field, made 11 of 14 free throws to finish with career-high 17 points for Little Rock (5-21, 2-11), which made only 3 of 20 3-point attempts in losing its eighth straight.

Varnado scored 12 points in a 16-4 run to end the first half for a 34-22 lead. Troy led by as much as 21 in the second half.
