Yeboah's double-double helps Stony Brook beat UMass Lowell

STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Akwasi Yeboah had his third double-double of the season, UC Iroegbu and Jakub Petras scored 16 points apiece and Stony Brook beat UMass Lowell 81-68 on Thursday night to snap a five-game skid.

Yeboah finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Petras and Iroegbu combined for seven of Stony Brook's 13 steals.

Yeboah scored eight points in a 10-2 opening run and Elijah Olaniyi's layup pushed the lead to double figures fewer than 7½ minutes in. Stony Brook (9-16, 4-7 America East) scored 10 straight points, including six in a row by Petras, to make it 27-14 with 5:30 left in the first half and led by at least nine points the rest of the way.

Jahad Thomas led UMass Lowell (9-14, 3-7) with 28 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.
