OGDEN — An attempted kidnapping led to a police chase on Friday evening in Weber and Davis counties, police said.

At about 9:10 p.m., officers responded to the Walmart at 1959 Wall Avenue in Ogden for an aggravated kidnapping call, according to Ogden Police Lt. Will Farr.

The victim was able to get away before calling police. When officers arrived at the scene, a chase took place as they pursued the suspect in the alleged kidnapping, Farr said.

The chase ended at a dead end road at 1400 N. 2900 West in Clinton, and police arrested Emanuel Carranza without any further incident.

Carranza, 30, was booked into the Weber County Jail on investigation of violation of probation or parole, failing to stop for police and aggravated assault, according to a jail report.
