Brown, Ringo lead Miami (Ohio) to 79-64 win over Akron

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Dalonte Brown scored 17 points and Darrian Ringo had 12 points, 11 assists and four steals to propel Miami (Ohio) to a 79-64 victory over Akron on Tuesday night.

Brown connected on 6 of 11 shots to help the RedHawks (12-10, 5-4 Mid-American Conference) shoot 48 percent from the floor. Ringo picked up his third points/assists double-double of the season and topped 10 assists in a game for the fifth time.

Malcolm Duvivier totaled 13 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season for the Zips (10-11, 3-6). Daniel Utomi had 13 points and Eric Parrish scored 10.

Duvivier's jumper gave the Zips an early 19-6 lead, but Brown hit two 3s in a 20-5 run that was capped by McLane's jumper and the RedHawks grabbed their first lead at 26-24 with seven minutes left in the half. Ringo hit two free throws and a 3-pointer in the final 66 seconds to give Miami a 41-31 halftime lead. Akron got no closer than seven after intermission.
