BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Five pedestrians died after being struck by vehicles in Ada County last year.
State officials say that's a six-year high for the state's largest county.
The Idaho Statesman reports four of the five fatal crashes were in Boise, and the fifth was in Eagle.
Annual pedestrian deaths in Ada County have ranged from two to four from 2012 to 2016, according to Idaho Transportation Department data.
Common factors in at least four of the five incidents: fading light and drugs or alcohol.
Two of the drivers have been charged with felony vehicular manslaughter.
