BALTIMORE (AP) — Jairus Lyles made five of Maryland-Baltimore County's 17 3-pointers in scoring 17 points and the Retrievers rolled past Centenary of New Jersey 85-41 on Sunday.

Joe Sherburne and Arkel Lamar opened the game with consecutive 3-pointers and the Retrievers took off to a 41-24 halftime lead behind 14 points from Lyles and 10 from Sherburne.

Lamar hit three treys in an 11-0 run early in the second half as UMBC's lead reached 31.

Max Portmann finished with 13 points, Lamar 12, and Sherburne 10 for UMBC (9-6), which was 17 of 34 from the arc, two treys shy of the school record. Lyles jumped two places to seventh on the Retrievers' career scoring list with 1,335 points.

Chris LaBelle scored 16 points for the Division-III Cyclones, who gave up 21 points off 18 turnovers. The game was an exhibition for Centenary.
