Rider shuts down Scott, Niagara for 99-76 win

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — Jordan Allen had 18 points and nine rebounds, Frederick Scott added 16 points and Rider beat Niagara 99-76 on Sunday.

Rider (8-6, 1-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) held the MAAC's leading scorer, Matt Scott, to just five points on 0-of-9 shooting.

Rider opened the game on a 12-0 run and led 42-34 at halftime after shooting 53.1 percent from the field, but the Broncs were just 6 of 14 from the free-throw line. After a four-rebound possession, Karamoko Cisse made a basket to put Rider up 67-53 midway through the second half.

Tyere Marshall added 15 points for Rider and Stevie Jordan had 12 points, six rebounds and seven assists. The Broncs shot a season-high 52 percent from the field and held Niagara to 35.5.

Marvin Prochet tied a career-high with four 3-pointers and scored 21 points for Niagara (7-8, 0-2). James Towns added 14 points and Kahlil Dukes, ranked 24th in the nation at 21.8 points per game, scored 13 on 4-of-13 shooting. Scott entered ranked eighth in scoring at 23.6.
