JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Norbertas Giga had 17 points and a career-high 14 rebounds and Jason Burnell scored 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting to help Jacksonville State beat Morehead State 76-69 on Saturday night.

Maurice Dunlap added 10 points and Malcolm Drumwright had nine points and eight assists for Jacksonville State (11-4, 2-0 Ohio Valley Conference).

Jamall Gregory scored back-to-back baskets and Drumwright hit a 3-pointer before Gregory made a steal and found Burnell for a dunk to cap a 10-0 run that tied it at 43-all just over five minutes into the second half. Londell King's layup gave Morehead State a five-point lead about five minutes later, but Giga scored five points and Drumwright added four during a 9-0 spurt that gave the Gamecocks a 58-54 lead with six minutes left.

The Eagles pulled within one point after a 3 by Lamontray Harris about two minutes later, but Burnell answered with a 3-point play and Jacksonville State made 7 of 8 free throws in the final minute to pull away.

King finished with 15 points and a career-best 14 rebounds, and Djimon Henson also scored 15 for Morehead State (4-9, 0-2). The Eagles have lost three in a row.

The Gamecocks trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half, but made 14 of 27 from the field and 16 of 21 free throws in the second.
