UC Davis beats Division-II Holy Names 89-62

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) — Chima Moneke scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds and UC Davis beat Division-II Holy Names 89-62 on Saturday.

Moneke was 7 of 10 from the field for the Aggies (9-5). Siler Schneider added 17 points, Arell Hennings had 14 points and five assists, A.J. John had 11 points and nine rebounds and Colin Russell chipped in 10 points.

The team shot 57 percent to 40 percent for Holy Names and had a 35-26 rebounding edge.

Moneke contributed a jumper, a dunk and a 3-point play to an 11-0 start for the Aggies on their way to a 38-19 lead at the break.

Holy Names got as close as 63-46 midway through the second half but the Aggies replied with a 21-9 surge and cruised to the win.

Andre Green led the Hawks with 16 points, six rebounds and four steals. Marcelas Perry added 14 points.
