PROVO, Utah (AP) — Emmett Naar and Calvin Hermanson each hit 3-pointers in overtime and Saint Mary's pulled out a 74-64 win in overtime in an early West Coast Conference showdown with BYU Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars, picked to finish third behind the favored Gaels and Gonzaga, was just 2 of 9 shooting in the extra period.

TJ Haws got to the basket for a layup with 1:26 remaining in regulation to tie the game at 60-60, but each team committed a turnover, each missed a long-range shot and the game went into overtime.

Jock Landale put the Gaels (13-2, 2-0) up with a jumper to start overtime and Haws answered, but Saint Mary's ran off eight straight points, sparked by Naar's trey and capped by Hermanson's that made it 70-62 with 1:08 to play.

Landale was 13 of 15 from the field and finished with 31points and 13 rebounds for his seventh double-double. He now has scored in double figures in 22 straight games.

Yoeli Childs was 11 of 23 from the field and finished with 29 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars (12-3, 1-1). Elijah Bryant finished with 16 points.
