Thomas, Foulland lead Bucknell in 84-55 rout of American

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Zach Thomas scored 27 points, Nana Foulland added 26 points and 11 rebounds and Bucknell routed American 84-55 on Friday night in a Patriot League opener.

Thomas was 10 of 12 from the field and made three 3-pointers. Foulland was 11-of-15 shooting for Bucknell (7-7), which shot 59 percent from the floor but missed 11 free throws.

Sam Iorio scored 20 points and Stacy Beckton had 11 to lead American (3-9).

The Bison closed the first half on a 14-4 run for a 35-24 halftime lead. Foulland scored eight points and Thomas added five during the stretch. Thomas hit a 3-pointer and Nate Sestina added a dunk and Bucknell had a 20-point lead with 13 minutes left and cruised from there.

Bucknell has won 15 straight at home dating to last season and has won its fourth straight league opener.
