NEW YORK (AP) — Mike Holloway Jr. scored a career-high 27 points with nine rebounds and Fairleigh Dickinson ended a six-game losing streak by opening Northeast Conference play on Friday with an 82-71 win over LIU Brooklyn.

Darnell Edged added 19 points, Noah Morgan 13 and Darian Anderson 11 for the Knights (4-8), who closed the first half with a 10-2 run to lead 39-36 at the break.

Joel Hernandez scored 23 points and Raiquan Clark 21 for the Blackbirds (5-9), who were done in by 15 turnovers that cost them 18 points. FDU only had four turnovers. Hernandez had 10 rebounds as LIU Brooklyn had a 43-33 advantage on the boards.

Anderson hit a 3-pointer to start an 8-0 run that gave the Knights a 66-57 lead with 6:09 to play. The Blackbirds missed three shots and had three turnovers in that stretch that covered 3:29.

FDU iced it by making all six of its free throws in the final minute and Holloway breaking free for a dunk.
