DENVER (AP) — Daniel Amigo scored 24 points to lead Denver to a 106-60 rout of Division II Colorado Mesa University on Thursday night.

It was the most points Denver (6-8) has scored as a Division I program. The Pioneers started D-I play in 1998.

Amigo was 9-of-14 shooting and made all six of his free throws. Ade Murkey and Luke Neff added 11 points apiece, and Jake Pemberton and Thomas Neff each chipped in 10 for Denver (6-8), which shot 59 percent (45 of 76) from the field and snapped a three-game skid.

Connor Nichols scored 10 points to lead Colorado Mesa.

Denver led 26-24 midway through the first half and used a 16-0 run. Amigo scored 10 points and the Mavericks missed seven field goals during the stretch, and the Pioneers stretched their lead to a 56-34 at halftime.
