CSU Northridge beats San Diego Christian, snaps 11-game skid

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Tavrion Dawson poured in a career-high 33 points and Micheal Warren added a season-high 22 as CSU Northridge snapped an 11-game skid with a 93-63 win over NAIA San Diego Christian on Wednesday night.

Both of the Matadors wins this season have come against NAIA teams, beating Life Pacific in the season opener.

Northridge raced out to a 51-23 lead after 20 minutes and cruised home, shooting 59.4 percent from the field (38 of 64), including 13 of 21 from behind the three-point arc. Terrell Gomez added 14 points and had seven assists for the Matadors (2-11).

Hayden Fredrick hit 4 of 10 from distance and finished with 20 points for San Diego Christian, with Derek Novsek adding another 15 points.

Northridge plays host to Morgan State in its final nonconference game and opens Big West Conference play at home against Hawaii on Jan. 6.
