RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Ajani Kennedy made 6 of 7 from the field, including both of his 3-point attempts, and finished with 15 points to help UC Riverside beat NAIA member UC Merced 91-46 on Friday night.
Alex Larsson added 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting, Menno Dijkstra scored 12 on 5-of-7 shooting and Eric Rwahwire added 10 points for the Highlanders (5-7).
UC Riverside led the entire way, opening with a 25-9 lead, going into halftime up 47-24 and extending their largest lead to 46 before UC Merced ended the game with a free throw.
Jonah Cottrell was 3 of 6 from 3-point range and led the Bobcats with nine points. The game counted as an exhibition for UC Merced.
The Highlanders held the Bobcats to 24 percent shooting, had a 50-37 edge in rebounding and a 20-10 advantage in turnovers.
