PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Freshman Desmond Cambridge hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 33 points — both career highs — to help Brown beat Marist 90-69 on Friday.
Joshua Howard and Brandon Anderson each added 13 points and five assists and Zach Hunsaker scored 12 for Brown (6-5). Howard was 5-of-5 shooting and Anderson had four steals.
Brain Parker's layup gave Marist (2-10) a 25-24 lead but the Red Foxes made just 2 of 8 from the field and committed four turnovers in the next 6 ½ minutes and the Bears scored 22 of the final 28 first-half points, including nine by Cambridge, to take a 15-points lead into the break. Marist trailed by double figures throughout the second half.
Isaiah Lamb had a career-high 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting and Brian Parker scored 19 points for Marist. The Red Foxes have lost three in a row.
Brown made 33 of 67 (49.3 percent) from the field, including 13 3-pointers, and committed just seven turnovers.
