BALTIMORE (AP) — Chuck Champion scored 21 points and Cam Gregory grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds as Loyola of Maryland came back from a 12-day break for final exams to tame Drexel, 66-62 on Thursday night.

The game marked the 10th meeting between the schools and first since 2010, and the win snapped a three-game losing streak to the Dragons and ended the Greyhounds five-game losing string.

Champion was 8 of 15 from the field and perfect on four shots from behind the 3-point arc. Loyola shot 25 of 52 from the floor as a team (48.1 percent), including 5 of 10 from distance.

The Dragons came into the game looking for a fifth win in their last seven games in their final nonconference game before opening Colonial Athletic Association play December 30 at Elon.

Kurk Lee led Drexel (6-7) with 20 points.

The Greyhounds (2-8) complete their nonconference schedule Saturday when they play at Memphis.
