SPRINGVILLE — Troopers identified a Payson man on Thursday who was killed in a crash on I-15 Wednesday afternoon.
Utah Highway Patrol officials said Gage J. Carter, 18, was traveling south on the freeway in a red Pontiac Grand Am when he lost control of the vehicle, spun across all lanes of travel and collided with a Dodge Ram pickup truck hauling a trailer.
The truck collided with the driver’s side of the Grand Am. Carter was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, but it didn’t appear weather factored in the crash.
