LEBANON, Ohio (AP) — A man who raped a developmentally disabled woman at an Ohio extended care center has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and classified a sexual predator.

Warren County's prosecutor says 58-year-old Brian Sundin was sentenced Wednesday. Sundin was indicted this year and pleaded guilty to a rape charge in October.

Prosecutor David Fornshell says the 2000 rape case was unsolved for 16 years until the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation tested the woman's diaper and found DNA that matched Sundin's DNA profile.

The woman was non-verbal and required total support at the time she was assaulted. She died in 2011.

Fornshell says Sundin is believed to have entered the facility through an unsecured door.

Sundin's attorney has declined to comment.
