Oklahoma adds 17 on early signing day

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma signed 17 players to its top 10 recruiting class on the first day of the early signing period Wednesday, including offensive lineman Brey Walker and running back T.J. Pledger.

Nine of the 17 players, including Pledger, will enroll for the spring semester. Pledger comes from the IMG Academy in Florida. He is ESPN and Rivals' No. 5 running back and 247Sports' No. 5 all-purpose back.

Walker, from Westmoore High School in Moore, Oklahoma, is a 6-foot-7, 320-pound tackle. He is ranked third nationally by Rivals, fourth by 247Sports and fifth by ESPN at his position.

The Sooners also added quarterback Tanner Mordecai of Midway High School in Waco, Texas.

Oklahoma signed several in-state players, including defensive lineman Jordan Kelley and safety Patrick Fields of Tulsa Union, outside linebacker Jalen Redmond of Midwest City and defensive lineman Ron Tatum III of Putnam City High in Oklahoma City.
