BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Jermaine Crumpton scored 16 points as Canisius built a double-digit lead in the first half and used it to hold off Elon, 67-51 in its final nonconference home game Tuesday night.

Elon entered the game having won four of its last five games, but Canisius held the Phoenix to just 20 of 54 shooting from the field, including 8 of 26 shooting from beyond the three-point arc.

Brian Dawkins converted a layup and drilled a 3-pointer in the final minute of the first half to cut the Canisius lead to 10 points at intermission, but the Griffins (5-7) pushed it to 17 points five minutes into the final period. Takal Molson hit a pair of free throws with just under four minutes to play that gave the Griffins a 22-point advantage.

Malik Johnson added 13 points for Canisius and Molson contributed 11.

Dawkins finished with 13 points for Elon (7-5).
