Mobley's buzzer-beater lifts St. Bonaventure over Vermont

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Matt Mobley made just one basket on Saturday, a contested 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift St. Bonaventure over Vermont 81-79.

Trae Bell-Haynes missed a layup but Payton Henson scored on the put-back to give Vermont a 79-78 lead with five seconds to play. Mobley hit the 3 from the right of the arc and it rimmed in for the game-winner.

Jaylen Adams scored 17 points and had five assists to lead St. Bonaventure (8-2), which has won five straight. Courtney Stockard added 14 points, and Amadi Ikpeze and Izaiah Brockington each chipped in 13. Mobley was 1 of 3 from the floor and had four assists and five rebounds.

Anthony Lamb scored 27 points and Bell-Haynes had 13 for Vermont (7-4).

Stockard and Adams each made 3-pointers as part of a 7-0 surge to give St. Bonaventure a 73-69 lead with four minutes left. The Bonnies held the lead until Henson scored late.
