NEW YORK (AP) — Jerome Segura scored 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting and handed out six assists to help Fairfield turn back LIU Brooklyn 76-72 on Sunday to snap a three-game skid.

Tyler Nelson topped the Stags (4-5) with 17 points, but he made just 6 of 18 shots from the floor, including 1 of 6 from 3-point range. Ferron Flavors Jr. came off the bench to score 12 for Fairfield, which heads home after a season-long seven-game road trip. The Stags haven't played a home game since Nov. 14. Flavors buried a pair of 3-pointers in the final minute of the first half to give Fairfield a 36-35 lead at the break.

Hernandez hit two free throws with 1:13 left in the game to pull LIU Brooklyn within 71-69, but Jonathan Kasibabu and Flavors hit 5 of 6 free throws in the final 29 seconds to preserve the victory.
