BALTIMORE (AP) — Willie Rodriguez scored 22 points and Binghamton notched its sixth-straight win, beating Loyola (Maryland) 77-64 on Saturday afternoon.
Rodriguez was 9 of 13 from the floor for the Bearcats (7-4). J.C. Show added 17 points and Thomas Bruce led the team with nine rebounds in addition to his eight points.
Binghamton went ahead 12-10 on a Show 3-pointer early in the first half and never trailed after that on its way to a 36-21 advantage at intermission
A slow second-half start for the Bearcats allowed the Greyhounds (1-8) to close to 42-35 on an Isaiah Hart jumper with 15:25 to play. The Bearcats answered with 3-pointers by Rodriguez, Everson Davis and Fard Muhammad to help stretch it to 53-41 with 11:42 left and they led by double figures the rest of the way.
Chuck Champion scored 17 points with four assists to lead the Greyhounds, who have lost five straight and have yet to defeat a Division I team this season.
