SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Michael Veitch, Jack Whitaker and the late Barney Nagler have been selected to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame's Joe Hirsch Media Roll of Honor.

Veitch has covered thoroughbred racing for The Saratogian, his hometown newspaper, and The Pink Sheet since 1979 and has written two books on Saratoga racing.

Whitaker, a three-time Emmy Award winner known for his commentaries, joined CBS in 1961 and also worked for ABC. He won an Eclipse Award for National Television Achievement in 1977 and received the Maryland Jockey Club's Old Hilltop Award for outstanding coverage of thoroughbred racing in 1983.

Nagler, who died in 1990, wrote a newspaper column devoted mainly to thoroughbred racing and boxing for almost 40 years. He started at The Morning Telegraph in 1950 and later wrote for the Daily Racing Form.
