MAGNA — A Salt Lake City man who police were searching for in connection with the shooting death of a Murray woman in July was arrested in Texas, Unified police said Tuesday.

Gino Cecala, 46, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Dallas, Unified police tweeted. Police did not immediately have details on Cecala’s arrest, other than he was in custody.

Cecala was charged July 28 with murder, a first-degree felony, in the July 16 shooting death of Paige Espinoza in Magna. A $1 million warrant was issued for Cecala’s arrest. The Unified Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Office began asking for the public’s help in locating Cecala on Nov. 27.

In addition to murder, Cecala is also charged with discharge of a firearm, a first-degree felony; 13 counts of discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony; obstructing justice, a second-degree felony; and possession of a weapon by a restricted person, a second-degree felony.
