AMERICAN FORK — A shooting in the parking lot of a Taco Bell has critically injured one man.

Police arrested a suspect after he was treated for minor injuries but did not release his name.

"At this point, we still don't know exactly what happened," said American Fork Police Sgt. Josh Christensen. He said he believed some kind of altercation led to the shooting, but offered no further details.

Crews arrived about 5:30 p.m. Monday to the fast-food restaurant at 633 S. 500 East. They rushed the victim to a nearby hospital.

Detectives were interviewing witnesses late Monday, and several parking lots near the restaurant were taped off. Christensen said his colleagues were seeking to verify reports that the shooting had moved into surrounding lots.
