Tillman paces VCU to 82-75 rally against ODU

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Justin Tillman set a career high with 28 points and missed just three of 13 shots and De'Riante Jenkins scored 23 and Virginia Commonwealth rallied to beat Old Dominion 82-75 on Saturday night.

Ahmad Caver's 3 put Old Dominion up 59-48 with 13:45 left, and after VCU (5-3) called a timeout, the Rams erupted for a 17-2 run behind Jenkins, who made two 3s and a layup, and Tillman added a 3 and layup for a 65-61 lead.

Following Caver's 3, Old Dominion (5-3) shot 6 for 19 from the floor and even struggled to get off shots. B.J. Stith missed a 3 with 4:15 to go, and the Monarchs didn't attempt another shot until Trey Porter made a layup with 1:20 left to reduce their deficit to 73-67.

VCU made 11 of 12 free throws in the last 95 seconds to seal the win. Jonathan Williams scored 18 points and was 11 of 13 from the free throw line.

Randy Haynes led ODU with 18 points and Caver had 14.
