DRAPER — Police released the name of a man who died when the pickup truck he was driving plowed into a vacant building in Draper early Thursday morning.

The deceased is identified as 29-year-old Stetson David Peck, according to Draper Police Sgt. Chad Carpenter.

The Ford F250 was northbound on Minuteman Drive around 2 a.m. at a very high rate of speed when Peck lost control at a curve near 12458 South, Carpenter said in a news release. The vehicle went off the road, rolled several times, and hit a vacant building that was formerly a restaurant.

Peck died on scene.

The road was closed in a three-block radius but reopened around 5 a.m.

The building appears to have significant damage.
