HURRICANE — Police are looking for an individual they say stabbed a woman while dressed as a clown Halloween night.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence near 1300 South and 3300 West at approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to Hurricane police spokeswoman Tiffany Mower.

Mower said the individual in the costume approached the woman’s door and assaulted her before fleeing in a pickup truck. The woman was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.

No description of the individual was given, though Mower said they believe there is no threat to the area, according to Mower.

"We are asking the community not to jump to conclusions and to understand that this an active investigation and if there is something to release we will strive to get that information out to the public as quickly as we are able," Mower said.

Anyone with information related to the case is encouraged to call Hurricane police at 435-635-7911 or 435-627-4999.
