BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON — One man is dead after a fatal motorcycle crash in Big Cottonwood Canyon Tuesday afternoon, according to the Unified Police Department.

The motorcyclist was a man in his 60s who went off the roadway and crashed into the rock face on the side of the canyon, police said. Police responded to the crash just above the S-curve in the canyon near 7000 East, at about 2:40 p.m.

The man died as a result of his injuries.

The cause of the crash and any other injuries are still unknown.
