SALT LAKE CITY — Buying UTA fares just got a whole lot easier for everyone with a smartphone.
The Utah Transit Authority announced Monday that riders can now purchase select bus and TRAX fares via mobile device. The new app, called UTA GoRide, is free and available for download now.
KSL.com gave the app a go and tested out how it works. Watch the video to see a run-through before you try it out yourself.
The app is designed for commuters who want to skip the line at the ticket vending machine and purchase tickets while out and about. It also allows customers to purchase multiple tickets at a time, either for future use or for multiple riders.
While only a limited number of fares are currently available through the app — one-way fares, day passes and one-way reduced/senior fares — UTA said FrontRunner fares and other fare products will be available in the future.
