SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah gymnastics dynasty will continue under co-head coaches Tom Farden and Megan Marsden for years to come.

The university announced on Wednesday that the coaching duo have signed five-year contract extensions through 2022.

“We are privileged to have two of the finest gymnastics coaches in the country in Tom Farden and Megan Marsden and this contract extension signifies their commitment to the future success of Utah gymnastics,” Utah director of athletics Chris Hill said in a statement Wednesday. “Tom is a rising star in the gymnastics coaching world and Megan’s reputation is well established. They make a great team.”

Farden and Marsden, who previously served as assistant coaches in the program, are entering their third season as a co-head coaches of the Red Rocks. Farden is preparing for his eighth season while Marsden has been a head coach of the program for the past eight years, including six with her husband and Utah gymnastics' founder Greg Marsden.

“Megan and I are grateful to Dr. Hill for his faith in us,” said Farden. “With the unrivaled resources, fan base and tradition of success at Utah, we think this is the best coaching job in the country."

The pair won their first Pac-12 championship as co-head coaches last year, Utah’s third Pac-12 championship in the last four years. They also led the 2017 Red Rocks to the NCAA Super Six, finishing fifth in the nation. The Red Rocks have qualified for the NCAA championship every year Farden and Marsden have been on the staff, extending the program's national-record streak of national championship appearances to 42 years.

"Our goal is to continue to compete for championships and maintain our position among the nation’s elite gymnastics programs year in and year out," said Farden.
