SALT LAKE CITY — Even with the leaves changing and Utah starting to cool down, there are still plenty of events to take place this September and to kick off the fall season.
No matter where you live, there is always something to do whether inside or outside.
Here are some of the many events you can participate in this September:
Northern Utah
Sept. 4: No Name Chili Fest
Taking place Sept. 4, the fifth annual No Name Chili Fest will take place at Earl’s Lodge and Patio at Snowbasin with kids activities, music, games, snacks, refreshments and more. Price ranges from $13-$15. No reservations are needed.
Weekends: Oktoberfest
Twenty-five local and regional artists displays, arts, crafts, German music and dancing, food and more will take place at this years Oktoberfest. This event is open Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day from noon to 6:30 p.m. through October at 9385 S. Snowbird Center Drive.
Sept. 6-9: Brigham City Peach Days
This year’s Peach Days will include a carnival, car show, live entertainment, free concert, parades and much more. The event is free and goes from Sept. 6-9. Times and locations can be found on its website.
Salt Lake City area
Sept. 1: Midnight drag racing
Drag racing goes from 9 p.m. to midnight on Sept. 1 at Rocky Mountain Raceways, 6555 W. 2100 South in Salt Lake City. Admission ranges from $9-$20 and can be purchased online.
Sept. 7: Practicing law in Saudi Arabia
World affairs lecture series held by the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy features one of the first women to practice law in Saudi Arabia on Sept. 7. This event is free and goes from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Little America Hotel Ballroom, 500 S. Main in Salt Lake City.
Sept. 7-8: Utah Symphony "Raiders of the Lost Ark"
The Utah Symphony will be playing music of "Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark" on Sept. 7 and 8 starting at 7 p.m. Music will be played at Abravanel Hall, 123 West South Temple in Salt Lake City. Ticket prices vary based on seating choices and can be purchased online.
Sept. 30: Rumi Poetry Club
Taking place on Sept. 30 at 4:30 p.m., this event features recitations of poems, music, dancing and speeches by 13th century Islamic scholar and Sunni Muslim poet Rumi. The event is free and is held at the Marmalade Library, 280 W. 500 North in Salt Lake City.
Sept. 7-17: Utah State Fair
Going from Sept. 7-17, this annual state fair will feature food, music, rides and more for the whole family. Tickets can be purchased online and range from $8-$22. Gate openings vary by day. Location is 155 N. 1000 West in Salt Lake City.
Sept. 8-10: Salt Lake Greek Festival The 42nd annual Greek festival is taking place Sept. 8-10 and will feature traditional dances, music and food. Admission is $3.
Sept. 21-23 Salt Lake Comic Con
This year’s Comic Con will feature guests such as Elija Wood, Dick Van Dyke, John Cusack, Val Kilmer and more. Ticket prices vary and can be purchased online. Dates are Sept. 21-23. Times vary by day.

Central Utah
Sept. 1-2: Midway Swiss Days Festival
This annual festival has been going on for 75 years and features floats, horses, arts, crafts and traditional food and music. Event is held at the Midway Town Hall, 140 W. Main, on Sept. 1-2. Admission to the event is free.
Sept. 1, 2, 4: Polynesian Days
Thanksgiving Point is holding this year’s Polynesian Days on Sept. 1, 2 and 4. Event will feature cultural food, dance, rugby, concerts, hula, ukuleles and more. The event will be held at Thanksgiving Point’s Electric Park, 3003 N. Thanksgiving Way, in Lehi. Doors open at 6 p.m., and tickets can be purchased online from $20-$27.
Sept. 4: Labor Day Luau
Ashton Gardens in Thanksgiving Point will be opening its doors at 6 p.m. on Sept. 4 for a Labor Day luau. Ethnic food and music will be there, as well as a show starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $20-$32.
Sept. 25: Harvest Festival ft. Li'l Sebastian
Fans of "Parks & Rec" will have the opportunity to meet Li’l Sebastian as part of their Harvest Festival. Food, music, games, pumpkins, photo ops and more will be available at the festival. The event will be held at the Orem Community Hospital, 331 N. 400 West in Orem, on Sept. 25 at 4-8 p.m.
Sept. 1-4: Sheepdog Trial
Dozens of sheepdogs can be seen performing acrobats, herding and other tricks as spectators can eat food and listen to music. The event takes place at Soldier Hollow in Midway, 2002 Olympic Drive from Sept. 1 through Sept. 4.
Sept. 7-9: 28th Timpanogos Storytelling Festival
Occurs daily on Sept. 7-9 at Aston Gardens, 3900 Garden Drive, in Lehi. This family fun festival will hold storytelling performances, live music, puppets and pottery wheels.
Sept. 4: Lehi Heritage Day
This free event will be Mad Hatter themed with a car show, parades, bazaar and more. This event will take place 2-7 p.m. on Sept. 4 and varying locations.
Sept. 16: Provo Pride Festival
This will take place at the Historic Utah County Courthouse, 151 S. University Ave., in Provo. Event is free and goes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16. Live entertainment, music and food will be available to all attendees.
Sept. 16: The Lights Fest
Tickets range from $8-$53 for the Lights Fest taking place at 806 N. Pony Express Pkwy in Eagle Mountain on Sept. 16. Everyone will have the opportunity to send off personalized sky lanterns with tiki torches. Event begins at nightfall.
Sept. 22: Cornbelly's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Festival
Thanksgiving Point’s annual corn maze opens on Sept. 22 and will happen weekly after that. The maze is at 3003 N. Thanksgiving Point Way in Lehi. Ticket prices vary and can be purchased at the gate.
Sept. 23:India Fest
India fest will feature Indian food, entertainment, henna, art, photography and much more at the Krishna Temple, 311 W. 8500 South in Spanish Fork. Event happens from 5-9 p.m. on Sept. 23
Southern Utah
Sept. 22-23: Salt to Saint relay
This bicycle relay takes place Sept. 22-23 through 400 miles of open southern Utah road. You and a team will relay from Salt Lake City to St. George. Participants can register online beforehand.
Sept. 4-9: DOCUTAH
The International documentary film festival will take place Sept. 4-9 at varying times throughout the day. Some documentaries cover the Vietnam War, animal rights, Aleppo and more. These screenings will take place at 255 S. University Ave. in St. George.
Sept. 1-2: Hurricane Peach Days
Happening now to Sept. 2, Hurricane Peach Days will include quilt shows, eating contests, bingo, rodeos, a fun run, concerts, fireworks and peaches. Event will be held at the Hurricane Community Center, 63 S. 100 West from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sept. 1 and events begin at 6 a.m. and end at 10 p.m. on Sept. 2.
Sept. 17: Special Exhibit — Artists and the National Parks
A showcase of artists' portraits of Zion National Park, Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon and more will take place 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Zion History Museum, on Zion National Park Road in Springdale.

Throughout September: Utah Shakespeare Festival
The Utah Shakespeare Festival continues to release shows such as "Shakespeare in Love," "Romeo and Juliet," "As You Like It" and more. Showtimes and tickets can be found online.
Sept. 16: Best Friends Animal Sanctuary
This dog walk fundraiser will take place Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will give participants the chance to show off their dogs. All donations will go toward various animal associations. Event will take place at 5001 Angel Canyon Road in Kanab.
Eastern Utah
Sept. 1-2: Daggett County PRCA Centennial Rodeo
Daggett County will be celebrating its 100th anniversary with a two-day professional rodeo Sept. 1-2 at 7 p.m at the Daggett County Rodeo Arena, 20 N. 2nd West in Manila.
