WEST VALLEY CITY — One man is dead after a motorcycle crash late Friday night on 3500 South in West Valley City, according to police.
Oswaldo Perez Lopez, 26, died after his motorcycle collided with a passenger car near the intersection of 3500 South and 4800 West at about 11 p.m. Friday, West Valley police Lt. Jeff Conger said.
Perez Lopez was traveling westbound on 3500 South and was about to turn north on 4800 West when he collided with the car, Conger said.
It appeared that Perez Lopez was traveling at a high speed, Conger said. There may have been a problem with the lights on his motorcycle, because it did not appear that the lights were on during the crash, Conger added. Perez Lopez was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the passenger car was not injured, and there were no charges pending against the driver, Conger said.
