EAGLE MOUNTAIN — Pony Express Parkway reopened late Wednesday morning after a scare with what police were calling "a possible explosive device."
The road closed in both directions between Porter's Crossing and Smith Ranch Road Wednesday morning just after 9:15 a.m., according to a Facebook post from the Utah County Sheriff's Office. The road reopened at approximately 11:30 a.m.
The bomb squad was investigating the device which was found in the median. After a preliminary investigation, officials believe the device was a cone from a model rocket and was likely harmless.
