OREM — Orem police are searching for a man suspected of picking up a woman with mental disabilities and sexually assaulting her in a nearby hotel on June 28.

The man picked up the woman in Nielsen's Grove Park at 2000 S. Sandhill Road, police said. The woman is in her 20s but functions at an 8-year-old level, Orem police said in a Facebook post, Tuesday.

Police said the man was driving a white passenger car and may speak some Spanish. The man's image was captured on hotel security cameras, according to police. Hotel management wrote down "Veracruz" as the man's last name, which they obtained after asking him for ID, Orem police added in a comment on their Facebook post.
