NEW YORK (AP) — Yu Darvish makes his debut with the Dodgers tonight when Los Angeles takes on Jacob deGrom and the New York Mets in a marquee pitching matchup at Citi Field. The Dodgers acquired Darvish from Texas just before Monday's trade deadline.

CHICAGO (AP) — In a potential playoff preview, the Nationals visit the Cubs for a Wrigley Field matinee as the teams begin a three-game series. Kyle Hendricks makes his third start for the Cubs since coming off the disabled list July 24. Tanner Roark is on the mound for the Nationals.

PLYMOUTH, Mich. (AP) — A person familiar with the decision says Tony Granato will coach the U.S. men's hockey team at the 2018 Olympics, and Chris Chelios and Scott Young will be among his assistants. USA Hockey is scheduled to announce its coaches and general manager at a news conference today in Michigan. Granato coaches the University of Wisconsin and was an assistant under Dan Bylsma (BYLZ'-muh) at the 2014 Olympics.

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam (AP) — Davis Cup singles matches will remain best-of-five sets. A proposal for them to be played as best-of-three tiebreak sets was rejected at an annual general meeting of the International Tennis Federation today.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Tom Brady spent part of this 40th birthday working out with his teammates at the Patriots' training camp yesterday. With his first start of 2017 Brady will become the 20th quarterback in NFL history to appear in a game at 40 or older.
