PARIS (AP) — The airport in the southern French city of Nice says an altercation took place over the weekend between a passenger holding a baby and an employee of a subcontracting company working at the airport.

A video of the incident has prompted numerous reactions on social media. It appears to show the passenger pushing the employee, then being punched by him.

The incident happened Saturday night after an Easyjet flight was delayed for several hours.

Nice airport said police detained both people. It said airport management "condemns" the incident and has immediately asked the employee to be suspended.

The images of video surveillance cameras have been transmitted to police.

Easyjet said on its Twitter account that the company was "concerned" about the incident.
