Apparently the SL-Paris flight is going so well, Delta is thinking about adding a flight to Tokyo.

Yesterday the Governor's Office of Economic Development pledged 250,000 dollars to a pool of money to help Delta along. The airport, SL County, SL Chamber, SLC and state Office of Tourism are also putting in money. The Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune reported the money would help Delta market the flight and make sure it's profitable.

But GOED already believes the flight would be profitable. They estimate an impact of 90 million dollars for Utah and 1,100 new local jobs.

I did the story this morning, and got caught up in learning Japanese through YouTube. I wanted to learn some basic phrases to throw in my story. For instance, "Anata wa eigo o hanashi masu ka?" means, "Do you speak English?" "Moshi moshi" is how you start a phone greeting. Kannichiwa means good afternoon.

The flight may also bring in economic opportunities in other Asian countries. To that I say, "Ni hao!"
