Women from all over Utah gathered at a conference organized by Sen. Orrin Hatch today.
The women's conference theme, "Discovering the Diversity and Unity of Women," focused on bringing together women of all backgrounds. Hatch said, "Women have found that even though they have differences: political and religiously, civically and otherwise, that they can really enjoy each other and they can enjoy a lot of issues that are important to women in general."
The conference featured country music singer Colin Ray and former teen superstar Deborah Gibson as entertainers and speakers.
Scott Burns, the deputy drug czar for the Bush Administration also spoke to the women on fighting prescription drug abuse in the home.
