CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Details of a proposed University of Wyoming budget plan may eliminate more than 40 jobs in an attempt to cut over $10 million. The budget proposal will be presented to the UW Board of Trustees later this week.
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A new study of sage grouse in Eastern Washington has found a surprisingly large benefit from a federal program that subsidizes farmers to plant grasses and native shrubs instead of crops. The study concluded the CRP program is probably the reason that sage grouse still live in some portions of Washington's Columbia River Basin.
CODY, Wyo. (AP) — Federal officials have lowered the water levels of the Buffalo Bill Reservoir in Wyoming to make room for expected heavy runoff in late May and June. The Cody Enterprise reports warmer than expected temperatures and abundant snowpack weren't enough this past weekend to unleash flooding in the Shoshone River basin east of the reservoir, but official say the real threat remains a few weeks away.
GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — The 34-year-old man killed in an ATV accident in northeast Wyoming last week has been identified as Richard Schumacker of Douglas. The Campbell County Coroner's Office said the cause of death is pending an autopsy.
